Was I really like that?

Dear friend,
My brother is here for the week and decided that we should transfer home videos onto DVD while we can still use the VHS. It's a good idea, which of course means that we have ended up watching the videos as they transfer. And I can't believe that the little 6 year old that I just saw doing the most basic of gymnastics moves, and skipping back into place after each one, grew up to be me! I honestly don't remember being that enthusiastic about anything, let alone in public where every one's parents were nearby.
I do happen to remember being a "look at me, look at me!" sort of girl when a camera was involved.
It's also fun to see how many different ways my Mom did my hair when I was younger.
It's fun to see my brother, especially in 80's and 90's clothes. I'm certain that a certain pair of sneakers my brother was wearing at my 6Th birthday party are being sold again at Journeys.
It's odd to see your life in clips. I'm now quite sure I won't audition for any reality TV shows. Like I was considering it to begin with. (Haven't found a clip of me developing my sarcasm, but maybe it's there.)

Lotta writing going on

In the past 24 hours, I have written in my diary, my prayer journal, my dream log and my blog. I wrote about five pages in my diary last night, what I suppose must most likely have been a heck of a lot of nothing. I only wrote about two pages in my prayer journal, and not much more than three pages in my dream log.

A dream log is an interesting thing to keep. It works best when you start writing as soon as you wake up from a dream. It's surprising how much you remember about a dream as soon as you wake up, that you would probably forget in an hour. It's a weird thing to read over later, though. No matter how much detail you provide in the journal, dreams make little to no sense to your "awake mind". This morning, I was able to do something that I've never been able to do, I resumed a dream that I woke up during the middle of. I dreamt that one of my co-workers said something that shocked me awake, I opened my eyes and thought, "What?!?!" then decided I wanted to hear the rest of the conversation, so I went to sleep again. The dream resumed where I'd left off. It was weird. Sure, my waking only lasted a few seconds, but I've never been able to do that before.

Topic change! Boys, just to let you know, it can be really endearing if you notice little things about the girls around you. Ray, a guy I work with, asked what I had done this weekend, and I told him that I went shopping, and bought new shoes, which I was wearing at the time. He looked down at my shoes and said, "Those are Vans! Those aren't Skechers." He remembered that I usually wore Skechers. I found that really nice. However, on the other hand, if you do it too often, you might seem a bit like a stalker. As in most things, there is a fine line between really cute and really creepy. I have no idea what brought that thought on.

I got a book of poetry from the library tonight. First glance through it looked rather promising. It's title suggests that it is for children, but it had some well known poets and a few obscure ones, too. It has "If" by Rudyard Kipling, which I had to memorize for school. I may copy into here, because it's a really good poem.
We'll see.

Till next I write!

First November post

Just writing since I haven't in awhile.

The other day, I saw an Audi TT with a pizza sign on the hood. That's right, an Audi TT delivering pizza. If you can afford that car when delivering pizza, then I want that job.

Speaking of cars, what is with the designs for new cars lately? They're so dang ugly! Who came up with the Honda Element? Or the Nissan 360 Z? Cars are supposed to look cool, not boxy (the Element) or sinister (the 360 Z). Let's not even get into my hatred for the Ford Focus. I know I'm way to opinionated about the appearance of cars, especially when I know nothing about how they run... But come on, these newer cars are getting uglier!

Shoes are getting uglier too. I saw an article in today's paper about rain boots becoming trendy. That's just stupid. And I still think Ugg boots, or whatever the heck they were, are ugly. And then there's pointy-toed, high-heeled boots. Not only are they scary, they look uncomfortable as heck. Though I suppose that if you had to kick someone in the shins they'd come in handy.

Now that I've exhausted my thoughts on that topic... I'm dyeing my hair back to it's original color in about a week. I hate seeing the roots growing in darker than the rest of my hair. I don't mind it on other people, but seeing it in the mirror everyday is driving me a little nuts. I actually wonder if anyone will notice. Fewer people than I expected noticed when I got contacts. But I guess hair color changes are a little more noteworthy.

I think I'm getting to be obsessed with music. I'm on Launch nearly every time I'm on the computer. My launch station is just bizarre: Josh Groban, BBMak, Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, John Mayer, William Joseph, Out of Eden... Other random things. When you can possibly hear Josh Groban followed by Relient K, it's just a little off-putting. But I love it.

I suppose I'm done rambling now. Stop by again, maybe I'll be more positive next time.

Till next I write!
